Experience the world's most popular destination for wildlife viewing!
DAY 1: BALTRA / SANTA CRUZ ISALAND / ISABELA ISLAND
You take a flight from Quito to the Airport of Baltra Island. Our guides will take you over to Isabela Island. Flamingo Lagoon which is the largest coastal lagoon found in the Galapagos and is one of the main reproductive sites for the grand majority of flamingos. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2: ISABELA ISLAND
After breakfast our destination is the rim of Sierra Negra Volcano. The Sierra Negra Volcano boasts the largest basaltic caldera in Galapagos at 9 x 10 km. The site offers impressive views and the opportunity to observe up to 7 species of finch and a rich display of vegetation. The north side of the caldera provides evidence of its most recent volcanic activity in 2005.
DAY 3:SANTA CRUZ ISLAND
Charles Darwin Station The Charles Darwin Research Station is home to turtles ranging from 3-inches (new hatchlings) to 4-feet long. Sub-species of turtles interact with one another and many of the older turtles are accustomed to humans, stretching out their heads for a pet. The babies are kept until they are about four years old and strong enough to survive on their own. Tortuga Bay is another destinations to visit on your own on Santa Cruz with baby powder white sand, magic blue waters, marine iguanas, and sometimes flamingos. It is only 2.5 Km from Puerto Ayora on a nice brick path (about 30-45 minutes walking).
DAY 4: SANTA CRUZ ISLAND
Los Gemelos, or the Twin Craters, are located opposite each other on both sides of the road leading from Puerto Ayora to Baltra. The name is only figurative; not real craters, these formations were created by the collapse of surface material in underground fissures and chambers. The view is breathtaking. What kind of weather can we find in the Galapagos Islands?
You will be in a year-round sunny destination; the warmest months are from December to May, and January to April can be hot and humid. The months from June to December are cooler, known as the "dry season". The average year-round temperature is 24°C (76°F).
What time zone is used in Galapagos?
Local time in Galapagos is GMT -6, one hour less than on Ecuador's mainland. On our yachts and vessels, we work with Ecuador's mainland time.
Who will meet me at the Airport in Galapagos?
Our guides will be waiting for you, with a sign indicating your ship or yacht. Register yourself with the guide. When everybody is registered, the airlines' bus will bring passengers to the dock, where our dinghies await to transfer you to where the vessel/yachts are anchored.
What should I bring on my trip?
We advise you to bring comfortable, breathable clothes. Good hiking shoes are required to walk over the lava rock paths. For shore excursions, comfortable clothing is a must, preferably shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits, tennis shoes, and a windbreaker-type jacket. The sun’s rays are very strong in the Galapagos Islands, do not forget to take with you enough high grade sun block, and something to cover your head, such as a wide brim hat. Take personal medication, a good camera, and plenty of memory sticks or film. Don’t forget sunglasses and binoculars. Also, put your cameras in self-sealing plastic bags to protect them from the water, especially during landings.
What's the process if I want to pay the Galapagos National Park Tax?
You will need to pay it at passport control in Galapagos upon arrival, only in cash.
Do I receive a full refund if the tour is cancelled due to seasonal changes, inclement weather conditions, or adjustments of Galapagos National Park policy?
Unfortunately, you do not receive a full refund because of unforeseen situations. However, we can change your tour date so you don’t miss this incredible tour!
