You’ll fly from Quito or Guayaquil to the Island of Baltra. At the airport in Baltra, you will meet up with your English-speaking guide, who will take you and the rest of the group to the port of Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) for lunch. Afterwards, you will take the public speedboat to Isabela, a trip which lasts approximately three hours.

You will arrive to Hotel San Vicente Galapagos or La Laguna Hotel (no Wi-Fi available). After a brief rest at the hotel, you will head to the Flamingo Lagoon, which is the largest coastal lagoon found in the Galapagos, and is one of the main reproductive sites for the grand majority of flamingos.

DAY 2

SIERRA NEGRA ACTIVE VOLCANO TREKKING – CONCHA PERLA ISABELA

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you’ll take an excursion to the Sierra Negra Volcano. This volcano is located 13 miles from Port Villamil, and has the second largest volcanic crater in the world, measuring 6 miles in diameter and 300 feet in depth. To arrive at this incredible sight, you’ll travel by bus or a similar vehicle for 45 minutes to the Galapagos National Park, where we will register our visit and then begin the hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano. You’ll then proceed to the Volcan Chico, where you can feel the warmth of the ground as proof of the volcano’s activity. Here, you’ll stop for a box lunch, before returning to the hotel.

After a brief rest, you’ll have the chance to go snorkelling or swimming at Concha Perla, where you can observe the colourful fish, sea urchins, starfish, sea lions, and even sea turtles.

DAY 3

TORTOISE BREEDING CENTRE – TINTORERAS

After breakfast, you will go to the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre, where you’ll see giant tortoises in different stages of life, and learn how the centre is helping to bring back the number of tortoises on the island. Additionally, you will visit a small lava tunnel and another Flamingo Lagoon, before returning to the hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will sail to “Islote Tintoreras”. It is so named due to a large crevice with very clear, calm water, in which white-tip sharks - known as “Tintoreras” - come daily to rest at the bottom. You can also observe penguins, sea lions, and marine iguanas here, and go snorkelling with sharks, as well as other colourful tropical fish, while enjoying the beaches of Isabela.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. What kind of weather can we find in Galapagos Islands?

You will be in a year-round sunny destination; the warmest months are from December to May, and January to April can be hot and humid. The months from June to December are cooler, known as the "dry season". The average year-round temperature is 24°C (76°F).

  2. What time zone is used in Galapagos Islands?

Local time in Galapagos is GMT -6, one hour less than on Ecuador's mainland. On our yachts and vessels, we work with Ecuador's mainland time.

  3. Who will meet me at the Airport in Galapagos?

Our guides will be waiting for you, with a sign indicating your ship or yacht. Register yourself with the guide. When everybody is registered, the airlines' bus will bring passengers to the dock, where our dinghies await to transfer you to where the vessel/yachts are anchored.

  4. What should I bring to the tour?

We advise you to bring comfortable, breathable clothes. Good hiking shoes are required to walk over the lava rock paths. For shore excursions, comfortable clothing is a must, preferably shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits, tennis shoes, and a windbreaker-type jacket. The sun’s rays are very strong in the Galapagos Islands, do not forget to take with you enough high grade sun block, and something to cover your head, such as a wide brim hat. Take personal medication, a good camera, and plenty of memory sticks or film. Don’t forget sunglasses and binoculars. Also, put your cameras in self-sealing plastic bags to protect them from the water, especially during landings.

  5. What's the process if I want to pay the Galapagos National Park Tax?

You will need to pay it at passport control in Galapagos upon arrival, only in cash.

  6. Do I receive a full refund if the tour is cancelled due to seasonal changes, inclement weather conditions, or adjustments of Galapagos National Park policy?

Unfortunately, you do not receive a full refund because of unforeseen situations. However, we can change your tour date so you don’t miss this incredible tour!
