DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Day 1

After an early flight from Quito to Galapagos (Baltra Airport), our transportation will take you to Puerto Ayora. In addition to getting settled into your hotel, this afternoon is free for you to visit the Charles Darwin Station, where you can get plenty of information about the Galapagos Islands. The Charles Darwin Station is free for visitors. Before dinner, our dive master will meet you in the hotel to organize everything related to your next two days of diving.

Day 2

After breakfast, our guide will take you to Mosquera Islet, an easily accessed scuba diving site. Mosquera is located between North Seymour and Baltra. The maximum depth of this dive site is 30m, and currents are generally mild. This site is famous for the sea lions that come and play during the dive. Sharks, turtles, rays, barracudas and tropical fish are also common in this area.

Day 3

Another wonderful day diving in Bartolome and Cousins offers fascinating underwater landscapes, complete with terraced steps that descend to 30 metres, before dropping down to a sandy bottom at 40 metres. The steps are covered with soft black coral, and are an excellent place to find pacific seahorses. The overhangs from some of the steps are the favourite places of the White Tipped reef sharks, green sea turtles, and large moray eels, as well as octopi. Manta rays, hammerheads, schools of barracudas, and other reef fish can also be seen at these sites and off into the blue.

Day 4

There’ll be some free time in the morning, which is recommended to spend at Tortuga Bay. This luxurious white sand beach is a great place to see marine iguanas, and to go kayaking along the coast. Many travellers spot Tintorera sharks while exploring here. In the afternoon, your transportation will pick you up from the hotel in Puerto Ayora at 12:30pm, and after lunch you will take a speed boat to Isabela (2 hours), where you will visit the Flamingo Lagoon and spend the night relaxing.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we’ll take an exciting excursion to the Sierra Negra Volcano. This volcano is found 13 miles from Port Villamil, and has the second largest volcanic crater in the world, measuring 6 miles in diameter and 300 feet in depth. In order to get here, we’ll travel in a bus or similar vehicle for 45 minutes to the Galapagos National Park. Our visit will be registered, before we begin our hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano. We’ll then go to the Volcan Chico, where the ground’s heat is proof enough of the volcano’s activity.

Here we’ll stop for a box lunch, before returning to the hotel. After a short rest, we’ll have the chance to go snorkelling or swimming at Concha Perla, where you’ll see colourful fish, sea urchins, starfish, sea lions, and even sea turtles.

Day 6

An early morning speedboat will take you back to Puerto Ayora, and after a quick breakfast you will head to the airport to catch your flight back to Quito.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. What kind of weather can we find in Galapagos Islands?

You will be in a year-round sunny destination; the warmest months are from December to May, and January to April can be hot and humid. The months from June to December are cooler, known as the "dry season". The average year-round temperature is 24°C (76°F).

  2. What time zone is used in Galapagos Islands?

Local time in Galapagos is GMT -6, one hour less than on Ecuador's mainland. On our yachts and vessels, we work with Ecuador's mainland time.

  3. Who will meet me at the Airport in Galapagos?

Our guides will be waiting for you, with a sign indicating your ship or yacht. Register yourself with the guide. When everybody is registered, the airlines' bus will bring passengers to the dock, where our dinghies await to transfer you to where the vessel/yachts are anchored.

  4. What should I bring to the tour?

We advise you to bring comfortable, breathable clothes. Good hiking shoes are required to walk over the lava rock paths. For shore excursions, comfortable clothing is a must, preferably shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits, tennis shoes, and a windbreaker-type jacket. The sun’s rays are very strong in the Galapagos Islands, do not forget to take with you enough high grade sun block, and something to cover your head, such as a wide brim hat. Take personal medication, a good camera, and plenty of memory sticks or film. Don’t forget sunglasses and binoculars. Also, put your cameras in self-sealing plastic bags to protect them from the water, especially during landings.

  5. What's the process if I want to pay the Galapagos National Park Tax?

You will need to pay it at passport control in Galapagos upon arrival, only in cash.

  6. Do I receive a full refund if the tour is cancelled due to seasonal changes, inclement weather conditions, or adjustments of Galapagos National Park policy?

Unfortunately, you do not receive a full refund because of unforeseen situations. However, we can change your tour date so you don’t miss this incredible tour!
