We will begin our adventure by entering a local Amazonian market. This colorful market is a real treasure of the region, where locals trade in a variety of exotic and tropical fruits rarely found elsewhere in the world.
There you will have the choice of two exciting culinary experiences. As one option, you can try chontacuros, prized by the locals for being rich in protein and relief from some ailments. Or opt for the option to indulge in tropical and exotic fruits, such as guaba.
We will walk through the jungle, where our specialized guide will teach you about medicinal, poisonous, and edible plants, with the possibility of observing some animals. We will continue to the beautiful “Hola Vida waterfall” which cascades from the top of a rock formation with an impressive drop of 30 meters, where you can cool off and swim in its crystal clear waters.
Our next destination is a visit to a community, where we will be welcomed by “Kichwa Indians” who will explain their way of life, traditional handmade clothing made from natural materials, the face painting of everyone, their way of hunting and fishing, and we will even have the opportunity to learn how to use the blowgun, a fascinating skill they use in their daily life!
And don't forget the souvenirs. You can buy unique handicrafts made by members of the community, using plants, bones, and animal feathers.
Best of all, your visit to this community will not only be an enriching experience but will also contribute directly to sustainable tourism, helping to support the community economically and preserve its valuable traditions.
Also, you will visit the Puyo River by canoe where with some luck we will be able to observe some birds and animals in the distance.
Upon arrival, we will observe figures carved into the mountain with caves representing the Children of the Sun. then walk approximately 15 minutes to the top, where we will have an amazing panoramic view of the junction of two rivers: the Pastaza and Puyo, plus the extreme swing or rest in hammocks while enjoying some refreshments, or just watch the incredible scenery while the sun goes down.
We will visit an artisan chocolate factory, you'll explore the entire process of transforming cocoa into a delicious delicacy. Starting at the cocoa plantations, you'll observe the harvesting of the fruits and learn about the local varieties. Then, at a bonfire, you will witness the roasting of the cocoa, which is then ground into a pure cocoa paste. But the most surprising thing is that, using this freshly ground cocoa paste, the local community will prepare a fresh cup of hot chocolate for you.
We will return to Baños city in our private transfer for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will arrive at 7pm approx
