DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The tour’s meeting point is the Tourism Information Center of Avenida Jose Larco. From here, the group will travel together all the way to Lima Downtown, taking the famous Lima "Metropolitan" transport system along the way. After approximately 30 minutes travel, we will arrive at our first stop - "La Gran Plaza San Martín". Here travelers can admire the building’s unique French-style architecture as well as learning about the interesting details of the building’s history.
Our next destination is "La Plaza Mayor", where we will pass through the famous Jirón de la Unión, one of the busiest and most commercial streets in downtown Lima. Here we will witness the impressive "Changing of the Guard" that takes place inside the Government Palace. We will also be able to explore the municipality of Lima, the "Club Union" & the famous Cathedral of Lima - whose construction dates back more than 300 years!
Then, as our journey continues, we will arrive at "La Casa de la Literatura". Here visitors can further learn about the diversity & history of some of the many cultures native to Peru.
We will then travel one block to the convent of Santo Domingo, which is believed to be the sanctuary of all Peruvian saints.
The group will then stop at the ‘La Alameda Chabuca Granda’ viewpoint, from where you will be able to witness first-hand the different social strata that divides the Center of Lima and its neighboring district, Rímac.
For our last stop we’ll save the best surprise of all – A visit to the chocolate museum, ‘ChocoMuseo’! Here group members can will try pure cocoa (the national flavor of Peru!) while also sampling a whole host of other cocoa based products - ranging from pisco infused drinks all the way to products such as cocoa shampoo & soap!
Travelers should note that access to the main square can depend on a lot of factors that can vary from day to day, so entry can occasionally be prohibited. Should such a situation arise we have multiple alternative routes planned that will also give you the perfect excuse to explore the most picturesque settings Miraflores & Lima Downtown have to offer!

Alternative Route 1 – Lima Downtown: BUS STATION COLMENA - SAN MARTIN SQUARE - DE LA MERCED CHURCH - MUSEO NACIONAL AFROPERUANO – BOLIVAR SQUARE - MUSEO DE LA INQUISICION - MERCADO CENTRAL DE LIMA – CHINATOWN (CALLE CAPON)
Alternative Route 2 – Miraflores: TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER – LARCOMAR - PARQUE MARCELINO CHAMPAGNAT - PARQUE DEL AMOR - EL FARO DE MIRAFLORES - CHOCO MUSEO - PARQUE KENNEDY
