DETAILED DESCRIPTION

We will start our tour at Kennedy Park. Kennedy Park is one of the main touristic places in Miraflores, received its name after the bust of the famous president of United States John F. Kennedy. People come here to relax and also to walk around the area that provides a variety of restaurants, bars, and coffeshops. At the park, you get the chance to taste some Peruvian food like Butifarra, Chicha Morada, Arroz con Leche, Picarones, and more. A fun fact about this park is that is known as “the Cat Park” since it was the home of approximately 100 cats: you will see them sleeping around or just being friendly around people.

At the park, we can find a church, Miraculous Virgin Parish, also known as the Miraflores mother church, built-in 1919 by the Polish architect Richard Jaxa Malachowski after his arrival during the second decade of the 20th century. Inside the church, we can find stained glass decorations inspired by the episodes of the life of Jesus Christ as well as the image of the Miraculous Virgin.

After the park, we will pass next to the house of Ricardo Palma, one of the most important Peruvian writers. We will learn about his story and his literary works.
Afterwards, we will go to Indian Market the biggest local market about souvenirs in Lima. The market is about a series of small shops that sell ‘traditional’ Peruvian handicrafts and souvenirs, including alpaca scarves, sweaters and hats, colorful woven textiles, embroidered cushions, ceramics, jewelry, and musical instruments. They also have fair prices, and it is a good place if you want to buy some souvenirs on your trip. You can bargain on the prices, so shop around first to get the best deal and then ask for a discount.

We will visit the Choco Museum. We will explain about the Peruvian cocoa, showing you the cacao tree and the process of the beans becoming chocolate. You have the opportunity to try chocolates, chocolate jams, Peruvian Pisco, and cocoa tea. The whole group can do the cacao tour for about 10 minutes. We will explain the process the different types of chocolates and derived products. Also, you can try them all and buy any of the products the Choco Museo offer: they have coffee, desserts, body lotions, lipsticks, including candles, cocoa beans, and notebooks.

After this sweet tour, we will go to the Love Park. This famous park is located in the Malecon Cisneros. It was inaugurated on February 14th, 1993. In the central part, you can see a beautiful sculpture dedicated to love, "The Kiss", whose author is the famous Peruvian artist Victor Delfin. The park is bordered by an undulating wall, where you can read romantic phrases from the best known Peruvian poets, phrases such as “You are above the infinite sea” by Augusto Tamayo Vargas.

To finish with this interesting tour, we will take you to Larcomar shopping mall. It was inaugurated in 1998 by Fernando Andrade, former major of Miraflores. Nowadays, it has over 150 shop stores, among we can find traditional Peruvian food and international restaurants, and if you want to have fun it has bars, clubs, and others. It is the most famous shopping center in Miraflores.
