This is a full day tour from Quito to visit the Quilotoa Lagoon, an incredible turquoise-colored lake located inside the caldera of an active volcano. On the way to Quilotoa, you will also stop to enjoy breakfast at the scenic Chuquiragua Lodge, located in the foothills of the Cotopaxi Volcano. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

On the way to Quilotoa, we’ll stop at Stop at the Chuquiragua Lodge in the foothills of the Cotopaxi Volcano to enjoy scenic views and breakfast. After breakfast, we depart Chuquiragua Lodge to begin the trip to Quilotoa.

Ones we arrive at the Quilotoa Lagoon, we will visit the Quilotoa Mirador lookout point for a beautiful view of the lake, an extraordinary turquoise-blue lake. We will take some time to hike down with our guide to the shore of this beautiful crystal-blue lagoon and you will have free time to explore the lake.

After the lagoon, you will have a guided hike to the scenic nearby community of Quilotoa, located right next to the lagoon. We have our lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, your guide will bring you to some nearby artisan workshops and museums where you will be able to learn about the local culture. You will have the chance to visit the incredible Shalala Mirador for some of the most breathtaking views you’ve ever seen. Finally, we depart Quilotoa and begin the trip back to Quito.

CHANGES: Changes to the time and date of this tour are free until 6:00pm (Quito time) 2 days before the tour begins. After this time there is a 100% change fee.

CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel before 6:00pm (Quito time) 7 days before the tour begins, there is a 20% administration fee. Within 7 days of the departure, 40% of the ticket price. Within 3 days of the departure, 60% of the ticket price. Within 24 hours of departure, a no show, or after departure 100% cancellation fee.
