DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Day 1: Cusco - Ninamarca - Paucartambo - Paradise Lodge

We will be picking you up at 05:30 AM from your hotel in Cusco and will embark on a drive from the Andes to the Amazon Rainforest. This will be a bit of a long drive with several interesting stops along the way.

Our first stop will be in Ninamarca town. It houses pre Incan funeral towers from the Lupaca civilization. Here we will be giving you a tour of the complex which will also give you an introduction to Lupaca civilization.

Our next stop will be in the folkloric town of Paucartambo. This vibrant town is home to a colonial church. However, people living here have preserved their age-old tradition and customs, in fact most of them still speak Quechua.

After having breakfast here, we will be driving you up the hill to Acajanaco Pass which is at 3550 meters above sea level (11646 feet). Acajanaco pass marks the border between the Andes and the Amazon Rainforest.

From the viewpoint here, you will get to contemplate the staggering view of the Amazon basin.

After soaking in the views of the Amazon Jungle, we will be driving down the hill to Manu National Park. Along the way, we will be stopping for lunch.

After lunch, we will be doing a guided hike where you will be able to spot the Andean Cock of the Rock, the national bird of Peru. This section of Manu National Park is also home to quetzals, hummingbirds and more.
Our guide will be explaining to you in detail about their habitat.

We will then drive you down to Pilcopata Town where you will be accommodated in Paradise Lodge for the night.

Day 2: Paradise Lodge - Inchipato River

After breakfast, we will drive you to Atalaya boat pier. Here you will be boarding the motorized boat for a ride on Madre de Dios river to Palotoa Eco Lodge deep in the Manu National Park.

We will have lunch here and our local expert will assist you with all the travel essentials you will need for the following two days further deep in the jungle.

We will begin our hike through the virgin Rainforest where you will be able to spot several native animals, birds and plant species.

Our campsite is on the banks of the river. After setting up the tent, you can spend the evening swimming in the fresh clear waters on Inchipato River.

We will retire to the tent after dinner.

Day 3: Inchipato River - Pyramids Zone - Inchipato River
After breakfast, we will be traveling to the Pyramids of Paratoari. We will be hiking through the pristine parts of the Amazon Jungle. During the hike, you will be able to see different animals, plants and birds. Our guide will be explaining to you about them.

For lunch, we will be stopping in an exclusive campsite along the river. Our chef will be preparing some traditional Amazonian food while you can plunge into the clear waters of the river.

After lunch, we will be reaching the Pyramids of Paratoari. Our local expert will be giving you a guided tour here. You will understand its formation and how it was discovered.

After the tour, w will be returning to the campsite for dinner. We will be setting up bonfire and the dinner will be accompanied by a toast of Peruvian wine.

Day 4: Inchipato River - Palotoa Lodge
After breakfast, we will be taking the traditional balsa raft back to Palotoa Lodge. You can spend the rest of the evening in the lodge and immerse in the serenity on our hammocks.
If desired, we can do a night tour to spot some nocturnal creatures here.

Day 5: Palotoa Lodge - Atalaya Pier— Cusco
After breakfast, we will be checking out from the lodge and will embark on a boat ride back to Atalaya Pier. Here we will be meeting our transport for the ride back to Cusco City.

Along the way, we will be stopping for lunch near Acjanaco Pass. We will be reaching Cusco by 08:00 PM.

NO SHOWS OR CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel before 6:00 pm (Lima time) 2 days before the tour begins, a 10% administration fee (+ the card fee) will apply. After this time, there is a 100% no-show or cancellation fee.
