DETAILED DESCRIPTION

We will pick you up from the hotel or hostel. Our first stop will be in the Aguada Blanca Saline Reserve to appreciate very closely the vicuña, after that, we leave for Patahuasi, in this place we can have breakfast or buy water or some snacks.

Around 9:30 am we will stop at the Sumbay River to observe some birds such as Guallatas, Andean animals such as Viscacha, Andean plants, geological formations.

At 11:00 am we will arrive at the Imata Stone Forest houses, strange rock formations composed of stone columns and with an enchanted forest appearance, in this place, we will walk for one hour appreciating different rock formations in the form of animals, humans among others. All these forms were molded by nature as if it were abstract art. The forest has many rocky columns of ignimbrite matter, which is basically the product of volcanic material and the erosive forces of wind, rain, and sun.

One hour and a half after we will visit the Pillones Falls. When you arrive at the falls you will see dozens of rocks shaped by the erosion of water and weather. You will also see numerous vizcachas jumping through the rocks. From there you can descend to the waterfall. The road is rugged, you must proceed carefully. Once you get there, you can take pictures, enjoy the warm weather, the landscape, the flora and fauna typical of the region.

At 2:00 pm we will have our lunch in the town of Imata.

At 3:00 pm we will visit the Poruña stone forest, formed by the erosion of water, wind, and sun and is very similar to the well-known Cappadocia in distant Turkey. One has a place to park and from there one has to follow the path until encountering this impressive forest. Of an almost whitish color, one is surrounded by dozens of stone chimneys eroded by the wind. Caves, furrows, animal shapes have formed. If one sees it from the riverbank they say it looks like a huge castle with its towers.

At 4:00 pm we leave for the city of Arequipa.

We will be ending our tour around 5:30 pm.
