We depart from Salta, making our way towards Purmamarca, taking the route numbers 9 and 34. Upon arrival to this quaint village, you’ll visit "The Hill of Seven Colours", the church, and the craft market.
We’ll pass through the "Posta de Hornillos", a historical relic, and then enter the “summer village” of Maimará. We’ll arrive to the town of Tilcara: here, you can visit Pucara (a pre-Inca fortification situated on a hill), and the Archaeological Museum E. Casanova. We’ll continue to the town of Huacalera, and go straight through the Tropic of Capricorn.
There’ll then be a stop to see the panoramic view of La Pollera de la Colla – get your cameras out for this beautiful, multi-hued rock. We’ll move on to visit the Church of Uquía, which is home to the Angeles arcabuceros.
We’ll continue the journey to Humahuaca, where we’ll visit the Cathedral and the Monument of Independence. There’ll be time for lunch here, and after eating, we start the return to San Salvador de Jujuy. On the way, you’ll be able to observe the Painter's Palette.
Upon arrival to San Salvador de Jujuy, you’ll visit the Hall of Flags and the Cathedral, where the pulpit is carved in wood and laminated in gold. As we continue, you’ll notice beautiful subtropical vegetation. We’ll cross the "Abra Santa Laura" pass, and see the dams La Cienaga, Las Maderas and Campo Alegre.
Finally, we’ll pass through the historic villages of La Caldera and Vaqueros, before arriving to Salta.
