DETAILED DESCRIPTION

We will meet at our office by 9:00 am, where you will be provided with the necessary equipment for your rafting tour. Once everyone is prepared and ready, we will start our tour, taking a private mini-bus to San Francisco Town. On the way, you will see different waterfalls (Agoyan, Manto de la Novia, El Pailon del Diablo) which are along the route. When we arrive at the river, you will be given a safety talk so that you know what to do on the raft (e.g. paddle commands and other tips to keep the group safe on the river).

We will practice the commands on land first before we get on the river. Then it is time for your rafting experience, passing through a beautiful landscape. After a great hour of rafting, we will finish the trip in Topo, where our driver will be waiting for us. To round off the trip, you will have a well-deserved lunch before we return to Baños.

The difficulty levels of the river are III and IV. The level III+ route can be taken all year around, while the level IV is only open during the summer from August until May, and sporadically in winter

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. Is it safe?

Yes! In fact, this kind of adventure tour is one of the safest, because we have a specific security strategy, supported by policies and procedures which are clearly defined and tested. We provide travel insurance and high quality equipment.

  2. What is the level/difficulty of rafting, and how physically fit do I need to be?

We run a 6km section with rapids up to class IV, and an approximate floating time of 1 hour in the river. You don't have to be super fit, because the level of rafting is intermediate.

  3. Can I bring my camera / video camera?

A general rule of thumb is don't bring anything you would be devastated to lose. Video cameras and cameras will get wet, and most likely ruined. A good idea is a disposable waterproof camera. The photo quality is pretty good, and if you lose it, it's not the end of the world. This is a good option when rafting. However, we offer pictures and videos in high definition with camera Pentax version V for free - you just need to bring a USB or SD card (4GB) to pick the photos and videos up after the tour!

  4. What kind of weather can we find in Baños?

This is a destination which experiences year-round sunshine. The average annual temperature is 25°C (75°F), with the warmest month being November. April is the wettest month, and February is the driest, although the rainy season runs from January through to December – these months can be hot, humid, and rainy.

  5. What time zone is used in Baños?

Local time in Baños is GMT -5, the same as on Ecuador's mainland.
