DETAILED DESCRIPTION

We have two schedules: 9 am or 2 pm and return at 2 pm or 7 pm. Upon departing Baños, we’ll head towards Puyo, a journey which takes approximately 50 minutes. En route, you’ll get to see different types of waterfalls; in fact, the road is called the "Route of Waterfalls".

Once we arrive to the destination, the guide in charge will give a short safety briefing about how to use the equipment, and will demonstrate paddling and rescuing techniques. Make sure to enjoy the full experience while on the rapids! There will be many water games, as well as beautiful landscapes to appreciate. After the amazing trip, we’ll stop for lunch and then return to Baños.

The difficulty levels of the river are III and IV.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. Is it safe?

Yes! In fact, this kind of adventure tour is one of the safest because we have a specific security strategy, supported by policies and procedures clearly defined and tested. We provide all the equipment for your safety as well.

  2. What is the level/difficulty of rafting and how physically fit do I need to be?

We run a 6km section with rapids up to class IV, and an approximate floating time of 2 hours in the river. You don't have to be super fit because the level of rafting is intermediate.

  3. Can I bring my camera / video camera?

A general rule of thumb is don't bring anything you would be devastated to lose. Video cameras and still cameras will get wet and most likely ruined. A good idea is a disposable waterproof camera.

  4. What time zone is used in Baños?

Local time in Baños is GMT -5, the same as on Ecuador's mainland.

  5. What kind of weather can we find in Baños?

This is a destination which experiences year-round sunshine. The average annual temperature is 25°C (75°F), with the warmest month being November. April is the wettest month, and February is the driest, although the rainy season runs from January through to December – these months can be hot, humid, and rainy.

  6. Do I need to know how to swim?

We always go by the rule “safety first”, so we provide you with life-vest and carry a rescue tube. In this way you will have buoyancy, and will feel comfortable and safe in the water.
