If you’re looking for a total Rio experience, then this is the tour for you.
Your adventure will start with Christ the Redeemer , located on top of the Corcovado Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. You’ll climb up the Tijuca Rainforest, which is the largest urban forest on Earth. It takes about 40 minutes to visit this legendary monument, and here you’ll get a spectacular panorama of Rio. Spend some time just taking in the amazing landscape and the famous view.
The next place you’ll visit is the picturesque area of Santa Teresa, located in central Rio. Pass down Largo dos Guimarães, do a spot of shopping, admire the beautiful architecture, and just watch the world go by.
The Metropolitan Cathedral will be your following stop, a big tourist attraction due to its fascinating, pyramid-like design. Designed by Edgar de Oliveira da Fonseca, take note of the stunning stained glass windows, and the magical atmosphere of this place.
Listen out for the Brazilian beat of Samba as you make your way into Lapa, Rio’s bohemian neighbourhood. Lapa’s gateway is the remarkable Lapa Arches, which in the past served as aqueducts, carrying water to the district of Santa Teresa. Nowadays, it is used as a public transport track, tasking passengers into the neighborhood.
One of the city’s most visually attractive landmarks is the Steps of Selarón, a staircase covered in colorful tiles with numerous mosaics. The vibrant colours and hippy atmosphere make this place a nice spot to hang out. Make sure to snap some awesome pictures for the album!
There’s more excitement ahead! From here in Lapa, you’ll go to Urca, where you’ll take two cable cars up to Sugar Loaf and get to enjoy the fantastic view of Copacabana Beach and Guanabara Bay. After the tour is over, you’ll understand why Rio de Janeiro is known as the “Wonderful City”!
