DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The tour starts from the city of Cusco with pick ups between 07:50 and 08:00 after which we begin our journey into the Sacred Valley.

Our first stop will be in the village of Pisaq, where we will prepare and taste the artisan empanadas before going into the archaeological site of Pisac Ruins where we will see Inca constructions and terraces. We will have a guided tour for approximately 1 hour where our bilingual guide will give us plenty of information about the most important sectors of this archaeological zone.

We will visit the religious sector of temples, the urban sector, the Inca cemetery and finally the agricultural terraces. After, we will transfer to the community of Cuyo Chico where we will have a typical lunch in a local family's house.

After lunch we will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo from where we will also see the impressive face of the Inca God Tunupa carved into the hill. Many market stalls line the entrance to the site and we can check out some local handicraft.

On our return towards Cusco we will visit the textiles centre where we will receive an explanation of the weaving processes, spinning and a demonstration of the ancient methods of dying and stretching the wool.

Our arrival back to Cusco is at 7:30 pm.

Note: If you are staying at a different location than the one you select as your pick up location, it is explicitly your responsibility to be at the main entrance of the hotel or hostel selected as your pick up location for the duration of the pick up time range on your tour date. You must be in a visible place easy to see for the operator and be alert for their vehicle/guide when they go to pick you up for the tour.
