DETAILED DESCRIPTION

IMPORTANT:

From January to march and depending on the weather we also can see water mirrors on the floor formed by the rain and the beautiful Parihuanas or Flamingos.


Your pick up will be between 6:00 am to 6:30 am at you accommodation.
Our trip will take us through the South part of the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca to get to the Salinas Lake which is located over the 4000 m.a.s.l.

Our first stop will be the viewpoint of Chiguata to observe the three volcanos of Arequipa: Misti, Chachani and Pichupichu. We will also observe the Andean terraces or Andenes, which decorate the hills and make a beautiful background for your pictures.

On our way up the hills we will make a stop to buy supplies like water and around 8:30 am we will arrive to the Salinas community; we will have breakfast over here facing the marvelous Salt Flat.

Around 9:30 am we will walk into the salt flat and spend around 1 hour to observe the Salinas, use your imagination to take pictures with special perspectives and walking around this marvelous place, our guide will help you with some ideas.

This national park is full of Alpacas and Vicuñas,

Jump into the natural thermal pool "La Mariposa" which is aside. Don’t skip the experience of swimming over 4000 m.a.s.l. looking at the mountains.

Around 12:30 pm we will start driving back and we will arrive in Arequipa City around 2 pm.

NO SHOWS & CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel the day prior to the tour before 6:00 pm (Lima time) or earlier, a 10% administration fee (+ the card fee) will apply. After this time, there is a 100% no-show or cancellation fee.

  1. Should I go to a meeting point to be picked up?

    The travel agency picks up from hotels and hostels inside city center. If you are not in the city center choose or private apartments, choose the nearest point to be picked up and be on time.

  2. Where does the tour ends, is it possible to bring me to my accommodation?

    Due the rush hour in city center of Arequipa we only finish at the entrance of the Saint Francisco Church from where you can walk safe in any direction.

  3. Do we see water mirrors and Parihuanas all the time?

    This is only possible during rainy season from January to March.

  4. Is there a minimum or maximum age or restriction?

    By preference don’t bring children younger than 5 years old. There is no hard trekking or walking so there is no problem for old people or passenger with leg pain. There is no path for wheelchair. Woman who are pregnant are allowed with no more than 6 months, by preference. No pets are allowed.

  5. Do the places to stop has toilets or facilities to change clothes?

    There are toilets but most of them no offer toilet paper. There are changing rooms in Lojen

  6. What kind of clothes I should bring?

    Bring a jacket with hood all the time, since the places to visit are over 4000 m.a.s.l. it could be windy and get cold. Optional you can bring some toys for the pictures with perspective.
