Visit Zipaquira's Salt Cathedral, an amazing place known as Colombia's First Wonder. If you're visiting Bogotá, you can't miss this!

Enjoy a visit to Zipaquira's Salt Cathedral, a Cathedral built inside a salt mine in a colonial town. You'll be picked up at your hotel by our local guide and head to Zipaquirá, a town near Bogotá where the Salt Cathedral is located. At the Salt Cathedral, you'll have a tour led by an expert, in which you’ll learn about the salt extraction process in the mine, as well as the meaning of the different constructions found inside the mine. Visit the largest underground cross on earth, and be amazed by this incredible place, unique in the world!

At the end of the trip to the mine, you'll head to the old part of town. Here you'll get to see the colonial area, and have a traditional lunch (not included) before returning back to the hotel for around 3:00pm.

   This operator only offers pick-ups from the hotel and hostel accommodation listed. This list covers over 90% of the accommodation providers in the area. They do not provide pick-ups or drop-offs at private residences, Airbnbs, bus terminals etc. If you cannot find your hotel on the list, please select an alternative pick up location close by and be ready for pick-up at the time shown on your booking confirmation.

   Zipaquira is about one hour away.

3. How long is the visit inside the salt mine?

   The visit inside the mine is about two hours long.

4. Is there a time for lunch during the tour?

   Yes. Although lunch isn’t included, we have a lunch time planned where we'll visit a restaurant with several menu options. A vegetarian option not available.
