Day 1: Puerto Maldonado - Monkey Island - Canopy Walk

Our representative will meet you at Puerto Maldonado Airport or bus terminal and will transfer you to our office in the city. Our local expert will meet you here and will brief you on what to expect on the following days in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle.

You can leave your heavy bags at the operator's office and just carry what you will need for the two days.

We will transfer you to the boat pier where you will be boarding a motorized boat for a ride on Madre de Dios river for an hour.

Once we get to our eco-lodge, the staff will extend a warm welcome to you with a cup of Amazonian Beverage as a welcome drink. This will be followed by a traditional Amazonian meal for lunch.

After lunch, we will be taking the boat to Monkey Island. This is an unmissable place in Tambopata. As the name suggests, the island houses different species of monkeys which you will be able to see.

Once you have had your fill of this, we will be doing a canopy walk. You will be able to relish a panoramic view of Tambopata National Reserve from the tree top.

After witnessing the sunset, we will be returning to the lodge for dinner. This will be another native Amazonian meal.

After dinner, we will be doing a short night hike to spot caimans and alligators among other nocturnal creatures.


Day 2: Tambopata - Lake Sandoval - Puerto Maldonado

Early in the morning, we will be going to see parrots and Parakkets clay lick. This is a distinct activity where hundreds of parrots and parakeets fly here to lick clay from the cliff.

The clay here has a distinct mineral that helps these birds to flush toxins off their bodies. After witnessing this, we will be returning to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast, we will be hiking for three kilometers to Lake Sandoval. Here you will be able to see the rick biodiversity of the Peruvian Amazon Jungle. You will be able to spot several animals and bird species.

Our local expert will be giving you an insight into their way of life in the jungle. For lunch, we will be stopping in the reserved zone. After lunch, we will be returning to the lodge.

We will be checking out from the lodge at 4:00 PM and taking the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Our representative will meet you at the boat pier and will transfer you to the airport or bus terminal.

CHANGES: It is FREE to change the tour date before 6:00 pm (Lima time) 2 days before the tour begins.

NO SHOWS OR CANCELLATIONS: If you cancel before 6:00 pm (Lima time) 2 days before the tour begins, a 10% administration fee (+ the card fee) will apply. After this time, there is a 100% no-show or cancellation fee.

   Visitors to Tambopata National Reserve require permit which is taken care by the tour company at the time of booking the tour.
