2:50 am:Hotel pickup by Exploor driver and head with shared transport from meetup spot where our driver brings you to Ollantaytambo train station (we leave Cusco at 3:15 am, 1h earlier than almost everyone else, to avoid the tourist crowds on Machu Picchu)

Take the train to Aguas Calientes from Ollantaytambo at 5:05 am approx.

Exploor team awaits you at the train station, then you head to the entrance by minibus

7:15 am: 2.5-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu (we enter before the majority of Cusco's tourist groups arrives, who start later than 8:00 am, taking the train 1h later)

9:45 am: End of the guided tour and back to Aguas Calientes by minibus

Take minibus back to Aguas Calientes and free time to have lunch

Take the train back to Ollantaytambo (the train schedule depends on the availability)* in the afternoon (be at train station min 30 minutes before departure time), pick up from the train station and shared transport to the main point in Cusco where our driver awaits and brings you to your hotel in Cusco where you'll arrive in the evening.

2. How do I avoid altitude sickness?

   Take Soroche (Diamox) pills, eat small meals, drink coca tea, drink lots of water, and avoid alcohol (it’s a dehydrator). The best way to avoid altitude sickness is to acclimatize yourself. The recommended approach for acclimatization is to ascend gradually, spending at least 24 hours at every 2,000ft increase in altitude.
